Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber again led the way at the Circuit of The Americas on Saturday morning, but this time Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton at least got within three-tenths of the world champion.
Nico Hulkenberg was an impressive fourth for Sauber, while Romain Grosjean took fifth for Lotus ahead of McLaren’s Jenson Button. Nico Rosberg came seventh for Mercedes followed by Sergio Perez while Valtteri Bottas put his Williams in ninth place and was followed by Adrian Sutil who completed the top ten.
