Nico Rosberg set the pace in Belgian Grand Prix first practice.
The German, who heads Hamilton by 11 points in the championship, was faster by just 0.097s around the demanding Spa-Francorchamps circuit. Hamilton seemed to be struggling with aspects of his car, missing a couple of braking points and running wide twice at the 150mph Pouhon double-left.
Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso was third fastest, 0.228 seconds behind Rosberg. Jenson Button was 4th fastest for McLaren while Kimi Raikkonen closed the top five for Ferrari.
