Nico Rosberg wins the German Grand Prix as teammate Lewis Hamilton battles to third.
Lewis staged a huge recovery drive despite damaging his front wing in a collision at around half distance when passing Jenson Button’s McLaren and in the end Mercedes driver caught up with Valtteri Bottas who was running second but could not pass.
Sebastian Vettel was fourth, Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso fifth following a short but intense fight with the other Red Bull of Daniel Ricciardo.
The result moves Rosberg 14 points clear of fellow Mercedes driver Hamilton at the head of the championship with nine races remaining.
