Nico Rosberg continued to be the dominant driver in the second Monaco practice this afternoon, ending his session 0.318s clear of Lewis Hamilton.

Nico_Rosberg_Monaco_Practice_2Nico, who also topped the time sheet in the morning, lapped his Mercedes in 1:14.759s, that is a second and a half better than the morning session. He was able to do that thanks to a combination of the track rubbering in and the use of Pirelli’s supersoft tyres. Hamilton’s 1:15.077s put him in front of Fernando Alonso’s 1:15.196s for Ferrari, with Felipe Massa making it a good day for the Scuderia by claiming fourth with 1:15.278s.

Red Bull best driver was Mark Webber who lapped in 1:15.404s as Sebastian Vettel – whose car was worked on during the session – continued to struggle  as  he remain at the bottom half of the top 10 with a ninth-best time of 1:16.014s. At this point we cannot exclude the fact that the Red Bull’s were sandbagging, but that will be revealed on Saturday.
