Sebastian Vettel is the man to beat once again in qualifying after he showed tremendous pace in free practice three.
Red Bull led the way by a clear margin on Friday, with Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber finishing one-two in second practice, Vettel’s best time an impressive 1m 24.453s. Lotus were their nearest rivals, with Ferrari and Mercedes also very much in the mix.
But at the end of today’s practice Alonso was the man who took the fight to Vettel with 0.283s behind him while Webber came third at with 0.317s gap. Lotus pace seems to have disappeared over night while Raikkonen goes back to the short car while McLaren found some pace and Sergio Perez managed to place himself in fifth just behind Mercedes’s Lewis Hamilton.
