Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg set the pace in a rain-affected first practice at the United States Grand Prix.
The German is in desperate need to beat team-mate Lewis Hamilton to retain his slim title hopes. Red Bull’s Daniil Kvyat set the second best time followed by team-mate Daniel Ricciardo.
The session marked the start of what seems to be a very difficult weekend, with Texas capital Austin expected to be affected by heavy storms and rainfall.
