Lotus flies high while Mercedes hits the wall.
Second day of testing at Jerez was a good one for Romain Grosjean who managed to put his E21 on top of the time sheets. On the other hand, Mercedes had another run of bad luck with the new W04 and ended the day into the tyre wall.
Yesterday Nico Rosberg ended his session much sooner than he would have wanted and the same can be said for Hamilton today. He completed only 15 laps before an apparent brake failure put him into the tyre wall at the Dry Sack corner. Later on Hamilton told Sky Sports News: “We had a failure with one of the brake pipes and so when I hit the brakes they didn’t work and I just went straight on, it was pretty heavy but it wasn’t as bad as I have had in the past.”
The only other driver with major problems was Marussia’s Luiz Razia who also had to cut his run short due to some engine problems.
