World champion Lewis Hamilton wins Australian Grand Prix for Mercedes.
Mercedes’s Lewis Hamilton made the perfect start to his world title defence by winning the opening race of the F1 2015 season in Australia to lead a Mercedes one-two in Melbourne.
The British driver controlled the race on the Albert Park street circuit from start to finish and had no problem keeping himself ahead of teammate Nico Rosberg.
The four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel took the final podium position for his new team Ferrari, holding off Felipe Massa in the Williams. Felipe Nasr was fifth for Sauber which seem to be recovering fast from the disastrous 2014 season.
