Ferrari director of engineering Pat Fry said “little silly problems” left his team “frustrated” on the third day of the Bahrain test.

Kimi_Raikkonen-Bahrain_tests-F01Kimi Raikkonen completed just 12 laps before a telemetry problem put an end to his morning’s running. He managed to get back on track to clock up 44 laps by the end of the day, but Fry said the team lost a lot of time fixing something that was relatively simple.

“It’s always frustrating when you have lots of little silly problems, isn’t it? Small things held us back but the cars are so complicated it takes a while to get in and find them. It’s harder getting to the bits to change than to actually change them themselves. [Today] it was just a simple silly thing we got wrong.”

Fry admitted the limited running on Friday has created extra workload on the final day of the second test on Saturday.

“We’ve got a bit of catching up to do, yes. We’ll just try to fit as much as we can in tomorrow really. We’re always going to be trying to do as much mileage as we can. We obviously got set back [today], but it would be nice to get another 90- or 100-lap day. We’re trying to do a sensible long run each day but it’s just a challenge getting to the right point.”
