Alonso has confirmed that the rumours about a new Ferrari car to be presented in Bahrain or later on in Barcelona are completely false.

Fernando_Alonso-Malaysia_2012_Flag  Fernando Alonso qualified for the Malaysia Grand Prix on 9th position but started from 8th because Kimi Raikkonen had a 5 grid penalty and he had to start 10th. Also the Spaniard was almost one second behind Nico Rosberg but later on Fernando confirmed that he had a KERS issue that might have cost him a few tenths, but despite all that due to an eventful race and a drive with no errors Alonso brought the F2012 on the 1st position closely followed by Sergio Perez who scored a solid 2nd for the Sauber Team.

“I had a little problem on my only exit in Q3 and i believe that because of it i lost few positions but it would have made the difference with P1 a little more realistic… We need to try and score points which are very important for the championship.”

The international and Spanish press is speculating on the fact that Ferrari will introduce a new car for the Bahrain or Barcelona race in an effort to bring the Scuderia closer to victories but the double world champions firmly denies it.

“A new car for Barcelona ? There is no truth in this. We are forcing the development of the F2012 as we should be. At this point the car has many problems but also has a lot of room for improvement” added the Spaniard.
