Massa had to cancel his trip home and head straight to Maranello after failing to score a single point in both races from the beginning of the championship.

Felipe_Massa_AlgarveWhat at first was reported as his decision has now being changed as being a team order for him to change the original destination point (Brazil) to Maranello, where he and Ferrari’s engineers will analyse all the telemetry from the both races in order to find why the Brazilian driver is so far behind his teammate Fernando Alonso.

At this point nobody knows what they found and what Massa and the engineers are up to but Spanish publication as.com informed us that Felipe has recognized the hard time he has right now and that he is more than eager to get past it and fight back:

“I am disappointed; I am not going to deny it. Not scoring in the first two races was bad, but now it’s time to move on. This is not the first time when I have difficulties at the beginning of a season and I know that things can change very quickly. Now we must do everything possible to return to normal, a situation where I can show my talent, as I always have, and the team knows that I can do it. Massa does not feel that he’s alone, and he is also grateful for the support of Ferrari bosses and hopes to show them that he can still fight:

“It has made me happy to read and hear what was said by President Luca di Montezemolo, our boss Stefano Domenicali and my team mate Fernando Alonso. His words were not a surprise because I know I have the support of what I consider my second family. I feel there is confidence around me. Now I want to turn this into results because this is the best way to thank for the support they showed me.”

Finally, the Brazilian confirms that there are still races where Ferrari will play on the defensive,  but they will be prepared to seize any opportunity:

“In China and Bahrain, Ferrari will play on defensive once more trying to seize opportunities that arise, as did Fernando at Sepang.”
