A bomb disposal expert was called into action at the Monaco Formula 1 Circuit Thursday evening after a suspect package was found in the paddock.
A small plastic box was found just outside the media centre, near to La Rascasse on Thursday evening. The area was immediately sealed off and a bomb disposal expert decided that the package is suspect and the best course of action is to detonate it. The controlled explosion left shards of white plastic strewn across the floor.
This is the second year in a row when bomb expert is called at the F1 paddock before the race. Last year they had to examine a discarded bag just before the race on Sunday, at that time the bag was eventually declared safe.
