Lewis Hamilton admitted he doesn’t know what was causing him to struggle during second practice for the Korean Grand Prix.

www.hoch-zwei.netHaving been fastest in the morning session, Hamilton could only set the eighth quickest time in FP2 and was unable to improve his personal best on the supersoft tyres. Hamilton seemed to have a lot of trouble under braking for turn one – locking up and running wide on a number of occasions to the extent he raised his hand in frustration – and he said he was perplexed as to why he was suffering compared to the rest of the field.

"The first session was great," Hamilton said. "The first session was fantastic, and I don’t really know what’s happened in this session so we need to analyse and I need to look at it. Wind direction has changed and all those things but it didn’t seem to affect other people so I have to try and figure that out."

On turn one, Hamilton added: "It’s not difficult at all; that’s why I put [my hand] up! It’s easy! And I kept going wide, straight on."

However, Hamilton added that team-mate Jenson Button’s pace gave him confidence that he could improve the car on Saturday.

"We’ve got time, we just have to be calm tonight and try and figure out where we want to go and the direction settings with the car. Jenson obviously wasn’t in such a bad position today, so the car definitely has some pace there we just need to extract it."
