Sauber’s chief designer Matt Morris said that the team is determined to push on after the success in Malaysia.
After a strong start of the season where the Sauber F1 Team has scored valuable points in both of the initial races races and showed that C31 has a very good race pace especially in mixed weather condition the development team now eyes to improve they qualifying pace. The Hinwil team is on the high after Sergio Perez stormed from 9th to 2nd to finish the Sepang race just behind Fernando Alonso.
But with all the success they had the Swiss team well aware of the problems that the C31 single seater has. Kamui Kobayashi and Checo Perez qualified 13th and 22nd respectively in Australia while in Malaysia the Mexican just about made it to Q3 while Kobayashi was down in 17th place. Matt Morris the Sauber’s Chief Designer admits that they are not were they want to be in terms of qualifying pace at the moment. “Clearly we have a competitive car, and we have to keep momentum up now. We need to push on and score some more points because to have what we have already got after the first two races is a dream start for us,” he told Autosport.
